FARMERS & PRODUCERS
Island Grown defines “local” as:
- Farms, shellfish operations, wildcrafters and other producers that grow, raise, harvest or process agricultural products grown within San Juan County.
- Livestock and meat products derived from animals that have spent at least 50% of their lives in San Juan County
- Products wild-harvested in San Juan County
- Value-added products for which at least 75% of the defining ingredient(s) and/or labor was derived from San Juan County
RESTAURANTS & BUSINESSES
Restaurants, stores, schools and other businesses that exemplify a year-round commitment to sourcing locally grown and harvested foods and products. Island Grown food establishment members must source at least 10% local products year-round, with the greatest commitment.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS
Individuals, businesses, organizations, or families who support a thriving local food system in San Juan County.
